CORREA SECURES KEY LAW ENFORCEMENT ENDORSEMENT FROM CAHP

The California Association of Highway Patrolmen (CAHP), Representing Over 14,500 Officers, Backs Correa in Race for CA-46

Santa Ana, CA— Following an outpouring of support from various elected leaders and organizations including Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard, the Hispanic Business Roundtable Institute (HBRI), and Assemblymember Cheryl Brown, today, the California Association of Highway Patrolmen (CAHP) announced their official endorsement of former State Senator Lou Correa in his bid to represent California’s 46th Congressional District in Washington.

In a letter to the campaign, the California Association of Highway Patrolmen (CAHP) wrote:

“Your support of law enforcement generally, and of all the California Association of Highway Patrolmen specifically, has earned you the respect and admiration of law enforcement throughout our great state.

“Both the active and retired members of the CAHP are sincerely appreciative of having the opportunity to work with you on issues affecting law enforcement, the California Highway Patrol and the citizens of California. Through your actions, you have demonstrated a real concern for the safety of the public and the members of our Association. We appreciate the cooperative relationship that exists between you and our representatives.

“We hope our endorsement of your candidacy will assist you, and more importantly, the voters in the 46th Congressional District. We look forward to a good working relationship with you in the years to come.”

In response to the endorsement, former State Senator Lou Correa released the following statement:

“Our Highway Patrolmen work tirelessly to keep our communities safe, and I am so proud to have earned their endorsement. In Congress, I will fight to make sure that our law enforcement officers have the resources and support they need to do their jobs. Moreover, I will work to expand and protect after-school programs for our youth and curb gang violence. I look forward to partnering with the CAHP and other law enforcement organizations to pass legislation that will improve neighborhood security throughout Orange County and the State.”
